Data Security & Handling
Our core commitment: Protected student data stays on the user’s computer and is never sent to us. All Razor Sparrow services meet or exceed FERPA, COPPA, SOPPA, SOPIPA, and New York Education Law 2-d requirements.
Razor Sparrow LLC builds workflow services and solutions for schools and educators. This page explains our company-wide approach, highlights where individual services differ, and links to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for full detail.
What to expect from every Razor Sparrow service
- Encryption in transit. Data we control moves encrypted between your browser, our services, and integrated providers over HTTPS (TLS).
- Sign-in you already trust. User authentication uses OAuth 2.0 flows through Google, Microsoft, and Google’s Firebase platform for login. Razor Sparrow does not receive or store your identity-provider password.
- We do not sell personal information.
- School-friendly contracting. We sign DPAs and complete vendor security reviews when your district requires them—see Districts and contact below.
Authentication, encryption at rest, and Firebase
After authentication, account-related data that we store at rest is encrypted using AES-128-CTR in infrastructure operated by Google Firebase. Data transmitted to and from our services uses HTTPS (TLS) for all data we control in motion. Razor Sparrow does not receive or store teacher passwords; password-reset and verification email are sent only through your identity provider’s or Firebase-related authentication flows.

Chrome Web Store and Google API requirements
Razor Sparrow distributes Chrome extensions through the Chrome Web Store. We adhere to Google’s Chrome Web Store developer program policies, user-data and handling rules, and Limited Use requirements for information received from Google APIs. GradeTransferer is listed in the Chrome Web Store. The commitments in this section apply to every Chrome extension Razor Sparrow publishes and maintains.

The table below lists exceptions: data flows that apply to one Razor Sparrow service and not the rest of our services. We add rows as we ship new features or services. When changes are made, we update the date at the top of this page.
